GIPE++ 2025 smoothly transitioned into its next chapter: Implementation.
With ideas and strategies aligned, the GIPEes began bringing their concepts to life in collaboration with the local community and project stakeholders on the island of Utung Jawa. The Social Media & Fundraising Campaign team, for example, launched the first wave of content production, designing visuals, drafting messaging, and posting across various platforms to build visibility and engagement around the project. Their efforts marked the beginning of the project’s public voice

Meanwhile, other streams worked simultaneously to move forward. The Digital Platform team began setting up structural elements of the website, preparing sections for showcasing the island’s beauty and services, and planning booking functionalities. The Sustainable Tourism Strategy stream continued to develop actionable guidelines tailored to the island’s long-term development. The Environmental Survey stream began organizing and interpreting field data to inform local decision-making.
To track progress and ensure alignment, a General Online Meeting was held on June 17th, 2025, bringing together all students, coordinators, and academic staff. Each stream delivered an intermediate presentation, sharing updates on their implementation progress, early results, and challenges encountered. The session fostered open discussion, with coordinators and peers offering constructive feedback, insights, and motivation for the next steps.
This collaborative checkpoint confirmed the strength of the GIPE++ model and as the summer unfolds, the GIPEes continue their mission: to turn ideas into sustainable impact, one step at a time. And who says summer, says GIPE Summer School.
